Simple pleasures

This week, my simple pleasure is a new-to-me thread shelf.  I'll be admiring all that color as I work!
Spools of thread have a special appeal to us, don't they?
What is it about them we love???
I can't put my finger on it.
Maybe you can.  ;)

  1. I think the appeal of all the spools is the regularity of the same shapes mixed with the variety of all the different colors. You just want to keep gazing at the shelf! The quilt hanging on your wall looks like an interesting piece, too!

  7. I think threads are like a new box of crayons - so exciting and colorful. I remember my grandmother always having a big basket of empty spools for us to play with when we were little. I now have that basket, still filled with those same spools for my grandchildren and they love them too.

  10. mmmmm, same happiness I get when I look at the Amish shirting fabrics at the country fabric store. All those solids, all together - soooooo appealing. I think I need more solids in my stash :)
